Who We Are
The Sherpa Association of Victoria was established to bring together Sherpa families and individuals residing in Victoria, Australia. Our mission is to foster a sense of community, promote Sherpa traditions, and share the vibrancy of our culture with others.
Our Goals
- Cultural Preservation: Through events, workshops, and gatherings, we aim to keep the traditions, language, and heritage of the Sherpa community alive for future generations.
- Community Support: We provide a space for Sherpa families to connect, support one another, and celebrate life’s special moments together.
- Cultural Exchange: By organizing multicultural events, we share our unique customs and traditions with other communities, promoting mutual respect and understanding.

Our first major event of the year is just around the corner! Don’t miss Gyalp Losar 2152, a joyous celebration of the Sherpa New Year, on March 1, 2025, at 149 Donald Street, Brunswick East. This event will feature cultural performances, multicultural dances, DJ sessions, and much more. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, celebrate, and experience the richness of Sherpa culture.
